The five Heartbeats is a 1991 musical drama film that was directed by Robert Townsend who cowrote the script with Keenen Ivory Wayans. The film starred actors such as Diahann Carrol, Michael Wright, Harold Nicholas, Harry J. Lennix and many more. The plot of the film is loosely based on the lives of several artists and follows a three decades career of rhythm and blues vocal group, the five heartbeat. The film also portrays the rise and fall of Motown inspired soul act. The film was one of the bet o its time and made some of our childhood special and memorable. The film was nominated as the ASCAP film and television music wars in 1992, for most performed songs from motion pictures which it won. The musical film, the five heartbeats, had many cast members and, in this video, will feature some of the cast members who have passed away such as Diahann Carroll, Harold Nicholas, Chuck Patterson, John Witherspoon, and Arnold Johnson.
